Holle
Dutch Goat Milk Formula Stage 2 (800g) Can - From 6 Months to 10 Months
This is Holle Bio Opvolgmelk 2 van geitenmelk (Lait de suite 2 au lait de chèvre), the 800 g tin printed in French and Dutch. Holle's label calls it follow-on formula made with goat milk, for babies after 6 months and up to the end of the third year, as part of a mixed diet of bottles and solid food. The ingredients are from organic farming, the goat milk from Demeter (biodynamic) farming; Holle gives the Demeter share as 74%. The tin carries the EU organic logo.
The ingredient list begins: whole goat milk, lactose, whole goat milk powder, vegetable oils (sunflower, rapeseed), maltodextrin (from corn), starch. Lactose is the main carbohydrate. It contains oil from the microalga Schizochytrium sp.; no palm oil is listed. Folate is added as folic acid. The label says the milk is from Germany and the formula is made in Germany.
Made up as the label states, 13.5 g of powder with 90 ml of water gives 100 ml: 68 kcal, fat 3.6 g, carbohydrate 7.7 g (lactose 5.2 g, starch 0.5 g), protein 1.4 g, DHA 14 mg. The label lists no ARA value. Holle says one tin makes about 59 portions of 100 ml.
Follow the full preparation instructions and feeding table printed on your tin; this is a summary, not a replacement. The label says to boil the water and let it cool to about 50 °C, to pour in half the water, add the powder using only the scoop in the tin, filled loosely and levelled with the back of a knife (one level scoop is 4.5 g), shake, add the rest of the water, shake again and let it cool to about 37 °C. It also says to make each feed fresh, not to reuse leftovers and not to warm it in a microwave.
Powdered formula is not sterile. The CDC advises extra care for babies younger than 2 months, born prematurely or with a weakened immune system; ask your pediatrician how to prepare feeds for them. Once opened, the label says to keep the powder dry, not in the fridge, and to use it within 3 weeks. Store the tin away from heat; the best-before date is on the bottom.
The temperature on this label is lower than the 70 °C (158 °F) the CDC gives for killing bacteria such as Cronobacter in powdered formula; ask your pediatrician which method to use.

Three things every tin tells you
Its own scoop
Use only the scoop packed in that tin, filled loosely and levelled. Scoops differ in size between makers and editions.
Its own table
Water per bottle and scoops per bottle come from the feeding table printed on that tin, by age.
Its own timing
Make each bottle just before the feed and follow the tin on how long a made-up bottle may stand.
Powdered formula is not sterile. The CDC advises extra care for babies younger than 2 months, born prematurely or with a weakened immune system; ask your pediatrician how to prepare feeds for them.
Before the first bottle
Each maker sets its own scoop size and water ratio, and editions of the same formula can differ. Use the scoop that comes with your Holle tin and that tin's own preparation table, never another brand's or edition's, and ask your pediatrician about preparation.
