About this formula

This is HiPP Organic Follow On Milk as sold in the United Kingdom, in an 800 g tin printed in English. HiPP UK describes it as follow-on milk from 6 months, used alongside a varied weaning diet; the ingredient list starts with organic skimmed milk and organic lactose.

Organic lactose is the main carbohydrate named in the ingredient list, alongside organic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) from lactose. It also contains organic whey product, organic palm, rapeseed and sunflower oils and fish oil, and folate as calcium L-methylfolate (Metafolin). HiPP lists it as a product of Germany.

Selected nutrition, per 100 ml

Made up as HiPP UK states, 13.4 g of powder with 90 ml of water (one level scoop, about 4.5 g, to each 30 ml): 68 kcal, fat 3.7 g, carbohydrate 7.2 g (lactose 7.0 g), protein 1.3 g, GOS 0.4 g, DHA 13.6 mg. The full ingredient and nutrition panel is on the tin.

Preparing and storing

Follow the full preparation instructions and feeding table printed on your tin; this is a summary, not a replacement. HiPP UK says to use only the scoop provided, levelled and not pressed, one scoop to each 30 ml of water; to make each feed fresh, use it straight away and throw away unfinished milk; not to prepare feeds in advance; and not to heat feeds in a microwave.

Powdered formula is not sterile. The CDC advises extra care for babies younger than 2 months, born prematurely or with a weakened immune system; ask your pediatrician how to prepare feeds for them. Store the tin in a cool, dry place, not in the fridge, and use it within 3 weeks of opening.

Important information

  • Product information, not medical advice. Breastfeeding is recommended. Talk to your pediatrician about feeding your baby and before you start or switch formula.
  • This is the UK edition, labelled for that market. Our page summarises the label's key facts in English. If the pack you receive differs from this page, or any instruction is unclear, do not use it and contact us.
  • Age on the listing: from 6 months. Follow the age printed on the pack.
  • Follow-on formula is never for babies under 6 months.
  • Powdered formula is not sterile. For babies under 2 months, born prematurely or with a weakened immune system, ask your pediatrician whether a sterile ready-to-feed formula is better and which preparation steps to take.
  • Packaging may change. We will not send a different edition, stage, recipe or allergen profile without your agreement. Brand names are trademarks of their owners; Formuworld is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the maker.

Three things every tin tells you

  1. Its own scoop

Use only the scoop packed in that tin, filled loosely and levelled. Scoops differ in size between makers and editions.

  2. Its own table

Water per bottle and scoops per bottle come from the feeding table printed on that tin, by age.

  3. Its own timing

Make each bottle just before the feed and follow the tin on how long a made-up bottle may stand.

Powdered formula is not sterile. The CDC advises extra care for babies younger than 2 months, born prematurely or with a weakened immune system; ask your pediatrician how to prepare feeds for them.

Before the first bottle

The tin is the instruction.

Each maker sets its own scoop size and water ratio, and editions of the same formula can differ. Use the scoop that comes with your HiPP tin and that tin's own preparation table, never another brand's or edition's, and ask your pediatrician about preparation.
