Price per 100 g, and why we show it

Tins come in different sizes. One number makes them comparable.

A tin's price only tells you so much: tins come in 400, 600, 800 and 900 g, and boxes in their own sizes. Dividing the price by the weight gives a price per 100 g, which puts every pack on the same scale.

Price per 100 g across makers

  • Holle$5.17–$7.50
  • HiPP$5.75–$9.50
  • NannyCare$7.87
Powder only, today's prices, each formula's lowest price per pack. Each bar runs from that maker's lowest to its highest. Per 100 g = price ÷ grams × 100.

What the number does not tell you

Price per 100 g compares cost, not formulas. Stage, milk and edition come first; the number helps once you are choosing between packs that fit.

Every card and product page on Formuworld shows both numbers. Sort all formulas by price per 100 g.
